Yes, rewards points expire one year after they have been earned. It's important to note that points expire on a "first-in, first-out" basis. This means that if you have multiple sets of points in your account earned from different purchases, the oldest points will expire first when they reach the one-year mark, while the newer points will remain active until their respective expiration dates. To make the most of your rewards, we encourage you to regularly check your account balance. If you have any questions about when your points expire, please feel free to reach out to us at _hello@mapleholistics.com_ and we'll be happy to help.

Essential oils must be stored away from open flames and heat sources, including direct sunlight, candles, and stoves. Exposure to high temperatures can cause these oils to reach their specific flash points, the temperatures at which they ignite. Frequent exposure to heat accelerates the deterioration of essential oils.
-
When essential oils are exposed to air or oxygen, they undergo oxidation, leading to the fading of their volatile components, including their fragrance. This often occurs when the bottle caps are left open for extended periods. To mitigate oxidation and evaporation, it's essential to keep the bottles capped when not in use. Oils which have been overly-exposed to oxygen, while unsuitable for topical or aromatherapy use, can still find applications like household cleaning.
-
Exposing essential oils to sunlight or strong light sources adversely affects their properties, and these include fragrance, appearance, and efficacy. Because of this, essential oils are typically sold and stored in dark-colored bottles, commonly amber but also dark blue, green, violet, or black, to block UV radiation. Regardless of bottle color, direct sunlight should be avoided as it can cause temperature fluctuations, further promoting oxidation.
-
Leaving essential oil bottles uncapped for long lengths of time can allow moisture to enter, resulting in cloudiness and water beads inside the bottles. Keeping bottles tightly capped is crucial to prevent this.
-
-
● Ensure the bottle’s cap is securely fastened at all times.
-
● Replace the air in the bottle's "headspace" with nitrogen to prevent oxidation of the oil.
-
● Avoid exposure to direct sunlight/heat, and store essential oils under cool and dry conditions.
-
● Avoid inserting foreign objects directly into the bottle. Instead, pour the required amount onto a surface or sterilized equipment, dilute as necessary, and then apply as preferred.
-
● Keep track of the purchase date of essential oils by marking it on the product label or cap.
-
● Although dropper bottles are convenient, it’s better to avoid storing undiluted essential oils in dropper bottles, because the dropper’s rubber top can degrade, thereby affecting oil quality.
-
● Maintain essential oil bottles as full as possible to minimize "headspace" oxidation". Consider transferring oils to smaller containers if needed.
